Stanchion Positioning Computation

Poletect reviews your store layouts to help you position the stanchions efficiently to accommodates more customers in the same space.

The purpose of stanchions is to help guide the user on where to go, maintain a sense of order, and create a fair environment of waiting-one’s-turn. Moving the end stanchions and using angled end ropes can reduce the wasted space and accommodate more people if done correctly.

normal layout which only accommodates 34 customers

improved layout which now accommodates 41 customers

Normal layout with wasted space. The stanchions are positioned too close to each other. Using angled end belts are recommended.
Poor placement of stanchions. The stanchions are too close to each other in an orderly fashion. Customers may not like to be corralled and may duck under belts or remove the bells to get through. Round the end stanchion to shorten the line and use angled end belts are recommended.
